Changelog
What’s new.
TinyNotes ships often. Everything here is live in the app today.
Three panes, Favorites, and a calmer editor
- On wide screens the notes list sits between the sidebar and the editor, so you can browse and write at once. ↑ ↓ move through it, Enter moves into the note, ⌘\ hides it.
- Favorites: your pinned notes, as a view of their own in the sidebar.
- The editor is a centred column: the title, one line of properties, then the text. The edited date and word count live in the ⋯ menu.
- Right-click a note in the list for its menu.
- The theme moved to Settings → Appearance. Status filters are folded away in the sidebar until you want them.
Notebooks you can move, tags that nest
- Drag a notebook into another, or reorder it among its siblings. The notebooks inside come along.
- A notebook now shows only the notes filed in it; the notebooks inside it have their own counts.
- Tags nest with a slash: #work/acme shows up under #work, and filtering by #work includes it.
- The editor uses the full width of the page.
- The public site moved to usetinynotes.com; the app lives at app.usetinynotes.com.
Notebooks, status and a tag field
- Notebooks: file a note in one, nest them up to three deep, give each an icon. Notes without a notebook wait in Inbox.
- A status for a note: Active, On hold, Completed or Dropped. Filter by it in the sidebar.
- Tags get their own field under the title, instead of being read from #words in the text.
- One bar per screen, a floating sidebar on wide screens, and a tab bar on phones.
A short tour for new users
- Three welcome notes show the basics the first time you open TinyNotes. Delete them whenever you like.
Every screen has its own address
- Refresh, bookmark or go Back and you land where you were: a note, a tag, Search, Settings.
- Light, dark or system theme from the account menu.
- A keyboard shortcuts dialog: press ? outside the editor.
- Security headers on every response, and Next.js 16.4.
